History

The Crystal River Boys originally formed when the Brotherhood Quartet of Elizabethton, TN disbanded in the mid 1980s. Tenor Harold Coomer, lead Wayne Little, and baritone Dennis Bradley, all former members of the Brotherhood Quartet, formed the Crystal River Boys and recorded their debut project, Soul Stirring, in 1986. The recording featured the song "The Spirit Descended Down" which charted inside the Top 50 on the national chart.

Today

Through the years, the group has seen many changes, but has continued to sing traditional southern gospel music and share their testimonies of what the Lord has done in their lives. Today, the group consist of original tenor Harold Coomer, Lanny Summers as lead, Jason Thompson as baritone, and Harold's son, Brandon Coomer, serves as the group's sound tech. Harold, Lanny, and Brandon have been in the group together since approximately the autumn of 2002. Jason joined the group as baritone vocalist and keyboardist in June 2023.

Bobby Anderson was our bass singer for nearly 15 years before leaving the group to be more active in his home church in the fall of 2023. In the fall of 2025, Bobby volunteered to rejoin the group to help us during Lanny's battle with cancer.

The Crystal River Boys most recent recording is entitled Beyond This Veil.
